Weekly Meetings

Our Sunday meetings are held each week at St Osmund’s School on the Friary Estate in Salisbury.

People arrive from 10:00 am to help set up the meeting room and we aim to start the ‘official’ meeting at 10:45.

One of the objectives of our meetings is to allow our folk to interact with each other and everyone is encouraged to bring along something for the mutual edification of the fellowship.

Some bring food items, others words of knowledge, tongues (with interpretation), prophecy, public reading of the scriptures, songs, psalms, testimonies and revelation to share from the scriptures.

Each week we aim to share bread and wine together in remembrance and celebration of Jesus’ death and resurrection and the victory that has brought to our lives. Time is invariably set aside for preaching and teaching from the Bible.

We usually finish around 12 o’clock (though this can vary if the Holy Spirit hasn’t ‘finished with us’) afterwards we encourage everyone to stay for as they are able to enjoy fellowship together and put the ‘stuff’ away if they wish.

We meet for prayer at 2.30pm each Tuesday.  Prayer works!  We have seen some amazing answers to the things we have asked God for.   If you would like prayer for a particular need please ask!

Baptismal Services

It’s always a great thrill to see someone respond to the Good News of salvation through Jesus Christ. We believe that baptism is for those old enough to have made that decision for themselves. And it is by full immersion! – representing death to the old life and coming up to begin a wonderful new life following Jesus.

Outreach

We are keen to share our faith in Christ both in word and in action. Before the limitations imposed by the pandemic we have been involved in running social activities, distributing literature and meeting people on the streets and in their homes. Sometimes we have done this in co-operation with other churches. For several years we have run the popular Alpha Course, providing an introduction to the Christian faith.

Much of our outreach activity is concentrated on the Friary council estate in Salisbury, where we have run regular clubs for children and young people, as well as one-off events for everyone. We have distributed a quarterly newsletter to each home, and we make sure everyone gets a Christmas card.

In addition we actively support a number of local Christian-based initiatives, as well as missions activity abroad.

We support and promote Christians Against Poverty (CAP), Salisbury Together Churches, Morning Star, The Bridge Youth Project and Open Doors.
